Crossover Sports Academy

Developing Winners on and off the Court!

Coach Horton’s Bio

Who is Coach Horton???

I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and developed a passion for sports early. I attended Long Island University in the late 80’s.  While there, I played Middle Linebacker for the Pioneers.  My duties included calling the defensive schemes and directing teammates to positions in order to make efficient plays. As time progressed, I developed a knack for coaching with enthusiasm and grace.

I’ve coached football, baseball, and basketball in leagues throughout Queens, NY for ten years, winning countless championships in all three sports.  I managed and/or coached with Harlem Little League, Inwood, Columbia, Yorkville and the Boriqua League. I also taught middle school for over twelve years in the Ridgewood section of Queens.  I am currently the President  of the Crossover Baseball Association and I coach and manage the 14U travel baseball team.

Once my own children began to play sports, I focussed on their athletic lives, with great passion. It was then that I developed the Crossover Sports Academy. My mission is to build children’s self esteem through sports by giving them the extra attention needed in order to enhance their skills while having a good time.

In a society that places so much emphasis on athletics and sports, we need an outlet for the regular guys and girls to enhance their athletic development, in addition to having a place where they can feel good about sports.

I BELIEVE IN MY VISION!
